Feeling stumped? Use HubSpot's Blog Topics Generator tool to spur on some ideas.
Developing content is a problem unique to... no business. No one is immune to getting stumped for content. Everyone struggles with it.
How nice would it be to have a magic button you could hit to instantly get a week's worth of topics? There is one, and you can use it. I just created the following five example topics (easily a week's worth) in less than one minute:
- How To Solve The Biggest Problems With Airplanes
- The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On Robots
- What Will Everett Be Like In 100 Years?
- 15 Best Blogs To Follow About Robots
- 5 Tools Everyone In The Aerospace Industry Should Be Using
Although your business is surrounded by tons of interesting information, it can be hard to get these down on paper. Sometimes you just need a little shot of inspiration. Hubspot's Blog Topic Generator makes it super easy to get moving again.
HubSpot's Blog Topic Generator
HubSpot's tool allows you to punch in some terms relevant to your business and get a list of topics returned to you. The tool uses an algorithm to generate topics based on your terms. You can then tweak the topics or re-run the tool to get a list of topics that make sense and are interesting to you.
Choose Three Terms Relevant To Your Industry
Pick three interesting terms that are relevant to your industry (nouns are recommended). If you are having trouble picking some terms, use the 5WHow technique:
- Who do you help?
- What do you do?
- Where do you serve?
- When are you needed?
- Why is your service important?
- How do you do it?
- Bonus: What industry keywords do you want to rank for on Google?
Now choose three terms. For example, say you are an advanced manufacturing company in Everett, WA that serves the aerospace industry. Three terms for you might be:
- robot
- airplane
- Everett
Get Your Blog Topics
The next step is simple, just enter your terms into the tool and click the GIVE ME BLOG TOPICS! button.
It might take more than one run to get a workable list of topics. I ran my three example terms a couple times before I got this list that I liked:
- How To Solve The Biggest Problems With Robot
- The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On Airplane
- What Will Everett Be Like In 100 Years?
- 15 Best Blogs To Follow About Robot
- 5 Tools Everyone In The Airplane Industry Should Be Using
That is a very good start to developing some interesting blog posts. I can easily work with that.
Do A Little Housekeeping On Your List
The topics the tool returns are not always grammatically correct nor do they always make sense. You might need to take a minute to clean up your list.
Starting with the list above, I can simply swap out a couple terms and add some pluralization to clean up my list.
- How To Solve The Biggest Problems With Airplanes
- The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On
- What Will Everett Be Like In 100 Years?
- 15 Best Blogs To Follow About Robots
- 5 Tools Everyone In The Aerospace Industry Should Be Using
Now I have a solid list of topics to research.
